Hi! My name is Lori and I’m a Disney World addict. I have been to Walt Disney World Resort (in Lake Buena Vista, FL, not Orlando) 7 times (so far) and my husband has been 11 times. I have stayed in a number of Value and Moderate hotels on Disney World property, though the Deluxes are still just a smidge out of my reach. Some day…

Why TheMouseShop.com?
Well, this is a bit of an odd story. I used to shop at TheMouseShoppe.com for some Disney World souvenirs that I had missed or that came out when we weren’t traveling down to the World. I was also looking for a Disney oriented domain so that I could do trip reports, post up advice for friends and family that were going down, and also to put up some Disney merchandise online auctions. One day I was checking out Disney World merchandise and typed themouseshop.com into my browser (forgetting that there was an additional p and e in the domain that I wanted) and the page came up as unowned! I actually thought that TheMouseShoppe had gone out of business or changed domains, and I couldn’t stand the thought of their old site sitting empty (I’m serious about this, guys, no matter how my views have changed, I’m talking about back then), so I bought it. Only after several searches landed here from people searching for “themouseshoppe.com” did I realize my mistake.
So, TheMouseShop.com sat more or less empty for a couple of years. I had a few posts up (I’m always surprised at how many people search for Disney World restrooms), but nothing spectacular. A little advice, some weird stuff (see the restroom post), some merchandise related, but all in all, this site was essentially empty for years. I still had big plans for making a sort of tour guide for a first timer at Disney World, but I didn’t do anything about it.
Until. A friend of mine went to Disney World for the first time, and assumed that my Disney site would be useful. Ah, yeah, about that… you know I haven’t posted in 5 million years? Yeah. She had a great time and all, but after reading her trip report I realized just how much I could have helped her.
So, I considered buying a separate domain and starting afresh. After all, what does “TheMouseShop” have to do with a Disney World travel guide? Nothing. Except when it’s selling a travel guide (I do have Birnbaum posts, but that’s it). I really argued with myself for a couple of days, but finally decided two things. 1.) I’m cheap and I’m mercenary- I’d rather use an old domain with a little content on it than pay for a whole new one and start totally from scratch, and 2.) I like how I set up this site, and I do intend to do merchandise posts as well as info. Hey, if info sites can have merchandise, then a shop site can have info! Oh yeah, did I mention that I’m lazy?
So, anyway, now I’m back to my original plan of detailed Walt Disney World information plus some Disney merchandise stuff. If you have any questions for me, you can email them to TheMouseShop at gmail (dot com, of course), or leave a comment on one of the posts.
Hope you find me useful!
